UNESCO World Heritage

In the 10th century, King Harald Bluetooth had Denmark's name engraved on a runestone in Jelling. He also erected the two largest mounds from the Danish Viking Age, as well as the Palisade, which is the largest single construction from that time. The Jelling monuments are now a UNESCO World Heritage site. At the experience center, Kongernes Jelling, you can learn the exciting history of the Vikings and the monuments.
